Dear Cecilton Resident/Utility Customer, The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued new Lead and Copper Rule revisions (LCR) which have mandated all water systems must submit a Lead Service Inventory (LSI) by October 2024.

The goal of this inventory is to identity all service line materials within the Town’s water system, both on the public side and the private side of the water meter/curb stop. This inventory will then be used to plan the replacement of all lead water service lines.

How can you help?

The Town is asking Residents to assist with identifying the private side service line materials. Please allow the town employee to gather the information from either basement or crawlspace. If we cannot gather this information from these locations at the home, we will have to dig near a meter to gather this information or you will need to provide this information to the town. This project must be completed in a timely fashion so your help is greatly appreciated. We will be gathering this information during the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, September 16th through September 20th. If you have any questions, please call Cecilton Town Hall at 410-275-2692.
